Excel Marine – Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of our website and any purchases made of inflatable boats or marine-related equipment from us. By completing a purchase, you agree to be bound by the terms outlined below. These do not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer law.


1. Orders and Pre-orders

  • Pre-orders and Deposits: Deposits made on pre-orders are non-refundable unless we cancel the order.
  • Cancelling Before Dispatch: You may cancel your order before it has been dispatched. In this case, we will issue a full refund, including any delivery charges. A restocking fee may apply to some products.
  • Cancelling After Dispatch: If your order has already been dispatched, you can still cancel under our returns policy. You’ll need to follow our returns process, and any refund will exclude the original delivery cost.
  • In addition to this, all engines are warranty registered before dispatch. If you cancel or return this after dispatch, there is a £75.00 administration charge, for warranty adjustment, and a 10% restocking fee.
  • Supplier-Direct Orders: If your order was shipped directly from a third-party supplier, please contact us to arrange return or collection. A collection fee may apply, based on product size and location.
  • Please note all refunds are made to the original payment method.

2. Delivery & Redelivery

  • Dispatch & Delivery Timelines: We aim to dispatch orders promptly. However, delivery times may vary if the item is sourced from a third-party supplier. Once items are handed over to the courier, delays outside our control may occur.
  • Responsibility for Delivery: Under UK law, the seller remains responsible for goods until they are received by the customer. We will liaise with couriers to resolve any delivery issues as swiftly as possible.
  • Failed Delivery Attempts: If the courier makes two unsuccessful delivery attempts, any further re-delivery charges will be your responsibility. We will work with you and the courier to find a suitable delivery time, though this cannot be guaranteed.

3. Returns, Refunds & Faulty Goods

3.1 Faulty Goods – Within 30 Days of Receipt

  • If your item arrives damaged or faulty, please notify us by email or phone within 7 days of receiving it.
  • Once your claim is submitted, you have up to 30 days from receipt to return the item for a full refund, repair, or replacement.
  • You are initially responsible for return shipping. If we confirm the item is faulty, we will reimburse your reasonable return postage costs.
  • If the item is inspected and found not to be faulty, the return will be processed under our non-faulty returns policy.

3.2 Faulty Goods – After 30 Days

  • After the initial 30 days, you are entitled to a repair or replacement, in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
  • If a repair or suitable replacement cannot be provided, a refund will be offered.
  • You may still be entitled to remedies up to 6 years from the date of purchase, depending on the circumstances and nature of the fault.

3.3 Right to Reject – Within 14 Days of Delivery

  • If you notify us of a fault within 14 days of delivery, you have the legal right to reject the item and request a full refund or replacement.
  • After the 14-day window, the remedy will be repair, replacement, or refund depending on the fault and timing.

4. Right to Cancel – Online Purchases

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods, for any reason.

  • To cancel, you must notify us in writing (email is sufficient) within the 14-day period.
  • Goods must be returned in their original, unused condition and packaging.
  • You are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is faulty.
  • Once the item is received and inspected, your refund (including standard delivery charges, if applicable) will be processed.

5. Returns for Non-Faulty Items

  • If you wish to return an item that is not faulty, please contact us within 14 days of delivery.
  • Goods must be unused, in original packaging, and in a resalable condition.
  • You are responsible for return shipping costs. We recommend using a tracked courier service and retaining proof of postage.
  • Once we receive and inspect the returned item, a refund will be processed to your original payment method.
  • If an item was returned as faulty but is found not to be, the return will be treated under this non-faulty returns policy.

6. Warranties

  • All Excel Marine boats come with a 12-month standard warranty.
  • To qualify for the extended 5-year warranty, you must register your product within 30 days of purchase via our online form or by email.
  • If your product is not registered within this time, any repair services requested after the first 12 months may be chargeable.
  • Please note this is a back to base warranty, therefore items must be returned to us for warranty works to be complete.

7. Pricing & Payment

  • All prices displayed include VAT (where applicable).
  • We accept payment via major credit and debit cards, and other secure payment methods available at checkout.
  • Payment is taken at the time of order confirmation.
  • In the event of a pricing error, we reserve the right to cancel the order and issue a full refund.

8. Product Images & Descriptions

  • Product images are for illustrative purposes only. Accessories or extras shown may not be included unless specifically stated in the description.

9. Website Use & Intellectual Property

  • Any misuse of the website may result in access being restricted or legal action being taken.

  • We take your privacy seriously. Your personal data will only be used to process your order, improve our service, and provide customer support.
